LEARNING HOW TO APRESHHHH!

Most who know me know I'm a huge fan of the hit reality series "Big Brother".  I have been a loyal fan since the first season - and every season I'm cheering along with big game plays, picking fav house guests and enjoying the out-of-control banter.  On the season finale this week - one of my fav players 'Frank', who was best known for his firey red out-of-control hair, the carrot suite, his hot headed play-with-your-heart loyal attitude, and his fav words "APRESHHH" - won the $25,000 cash prize after being voted  as America's Choice Winner!

APRESH has now become a common word in our household... My hubs comes home after a long day of work and still goes out to wash my vehicle and fill it with gas - when he gets home  I look at him and say "Apresh" with a wink.  I make a big homemade dinner that I know is one of his fav's even after having a stressful work day myself - he downs his meal, leans back in his chair and yells "Apreshhh!"  My point here is we take the time to tell each other that we appreciate the other persons strengths and actions - it might not be the gushiest way to show appreciation -  but hey, it works!

Appreciation is HUGE.  It's that sparkly golden key in relationships, in work, and in family life.  It's what makes us want to do that special something for the other (even if it is out of our way), it's what makes us strive to keep going with work even when it gets tough, and it's what holds a family together when everyone has specific jobs in order to make the household work as a full unit.  Now the most important part - it has to be from deep within heart and with meaning!

I stopped by my friends house this week after a busy morning of wedding makeup (my side job).  I was overtired and needed a nap in a bad way.  Right before I left her 4 year old son came up to me and gave me a dandelion.  So cute - I couldn't help but smile!  I thanked him for it and said "WOW - I really appreciate you!"  He looked at me funny - like he didn't know how to respond to that - but I can guarantee you I'll be getting a dandelion bouquet next time I visit ;)
